Hypnobirthing

Childbirth, Hypnobirthing, Pregnancy

Childbirth can be an empowering, positive and calm experience that can enhance your feeling of being and build an everlasting unity of togetherness with your baby and partner. With the use of hypnobirthing techniques you can experience a more relaxed pregnancy. The techniques seek to help you have a more controlled, calm, confident and joyful delivery.

Hypnobirthing allows you to experience the magic of birth and puts you in control, so your baby may be born calm and alert, as nature intended. Your baby will be able to bond quickly with you and it will help him or her settle into healthy sleeping and feeding patterns.

This unique first relationship between you and your baby will in turn affect every other relationship that your child experiences throughout its life – the significance of a calm and natural birth cannot be over-estimated. [hr]

Working with your body

final-7Hypnobirthing can be an empowering experience that you will treasure for the rest of your life:

  • Release fear, tension and pain – which can lead to interventions
  • Self hypnosis to induce deep relaxation
  • Massage techniques to release endorphins, your body’s natural anaesthetic
  • Visualisation exercises and affirmations to keep you grounded, serene and positive
  • your increased knowledge and awareness put you more in control
  • you are more likely to experience a natural, calm, drug free and comfortable birth – often enabling labour to be shorter and more comfortable
  • In many cases you will need no pain relief throughout the whole empowering experience[hr]

Both of you together

Hypnobirthing can actively involve the father, partner or friend who becomes an integral and important part of the experience. As a father you will share the experience and have played a positive role in the birth of your child through hypnobirthing. Learning the techniques of hypnobirthing together can enhance the feeling of a shared experience both throughout the pregnancy and the experience of birth. The sense of calm and peace learnt through self-hypnosis can be a useful tool throughout life’s ups and downs, way after the baby is born.

Birth is one of the most formative experiences of our lives, and you can help to ensure that your baby has the best possible entry into the world.[hr]
